In time this Opuntia can become quite large we have one here that has been planted for about 25 years that is 10 feet tall by about 10 feet wide. Bright yellow flowers 2 inches long show quit well against the blue gray of the pad, followed by the fruit which is an iridescent red 3 to 3 ½ inches long and delicious.
