San Pedro Cactus

San Pedro Cactus also known as Trichocereus pachanoi is native to the Andes Mountains of South America.

A handsome fast growing cactus up to 12 inches a year attaining a mature height of 20 feet, with a columnar growth pattern of dark green dotted with some small spines. The San Pedro Cactus flowers at night, pollenated by moths and bats, the large white flower up to 7 inches in diameter is a joy to behold, in the right light it appears to glow.

Uses for the San Pedro Cactus  include traditional medicine and traditional veterinary medicine, and it is widely grown as an ornamental cactus. It has been used for healing and religious divination in the Andes Mountains region for over 3000 years.

Grow the San Pedro Cactus in a container or outdoors in an area receives filtered light, has well drained fertile soil and can be given a moderate amount of water.
