Pelargonium Domesticum New Gypsy : Bicolor petals with a dark red central stripe flaced by white zones on either side that are flushed with pin, fading to a lighter throat. Dark, patterend vains. The center red strip is evern darker and wider on the upper petals. a Royal Horticultral Society introduction.
Pelargonium domesticum also known as Regal Geraniums, French Geraniums, Lady or Martha Washington Geraniums are decended from Pelargonium cucullatum and Pelargonium gradiflorium both native to South Africa.
They were quite popular in the United States in the early 1900’s and are currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity today.
Martha Washingto Geraniums possess strong upright, woody stems to about 2 feet tall, dlothed with stiff, green, pleated, point-lobed leaves: theri blossoms, which are held in clusters in spring through the cooler parts of summer (cool 50 to 60 F) night temperatures in order to bloom.
Grow them in containers to be injoyed indoor when in bloom for 4 to 6 weeks. Plant them outdoors in frost free areas in half day sun locations.
