Dasylirion wheelerii also known as Dasylirion Desert Spoon is native to Mexico.
A dense formal rosette of hundreds of linear leathery leaves 3 feet long and 1/2 inch wide, lightly convex ,gray green , the margins are closely set with small hook like spines ,tips are straw colored and splitting..
When it flowers the stalk will get 18 feet tall covered with small white flowers. The overall appearance is that of a gray green grass , or with age as the trunk develops a gray green grass tree. Grow in full sun, well drained soil as you would a cactus or succulents.
