Canna Lucifer

Cannas are native to Asia and Latin America. They are also called “Indian Shot”, getting their name from their hard, pea‐like seeds

Canna ‘Lucifer’ – Tuberous perennial. Full sun. Moderate water needs. Blooms in summer-fall. Hardy to 0 degrees F. A dwarf to medium-sized plant to 3-4 feet tall with bright red flowers that have a yellow edge around all parts. Leaves are green with a blue tinge.

Canna Lucifer makes an ideal container plant  as well as planted in the landscape, it’s flowers attract hummingbirds.

Apply a nitrogen rich fertilizer once a month for optimum growth. Keep soil moist all season long. Avid gardeners mulch around the plants heavily every year to help retain water, and to replenish organic matter. Avoid overcrowding plants. Separate and replant established plants every three to four years. In the fall, dig up the roots for storage. The roots will survive over wintering outdoors only in the warmest areas of the country.

We are offering  a well-established plant  10 to 16 inches tall if in growing season , or rhizome if it is dormant.
