Black Bamboo M

Black Bamboo also known as Phyllostachys nigra.

One of our most popular Bamboos and difficult to find so well established. It has black culms and masses of small medium green leaves.  The new culms come up green and turn black during the first year or two after emerging. Growth to 15 feet and when the grove is mature can reach 1 ½ inches in diameter.

A slow growing Bamboo and hence a wonderful plant for containers and small Oriental Gardens. This is a running type of Bamboo so give it room to spread.

We are offering a well established plant 3 to 6 feet tall, we will cut the top back to 3 feet for shipping
