Alstromeria pulchella also known as Peruvian Lily or Species Alstromeria is native to Northern Brazil.
This verity of Alstromeria is rarely seen and seldom offered spectacular small Azalea like flowers, dark red tipped with green and brown in clusters on stems to 3 feet long. Very showy in arrangements with Leather Fern. Masses of color from May thru mid-summer.
Alstromeria pulchella is best grown in cool., damp ,never wet, sandy to medium loam soil. Morning sun and afternoon shade works best.. In time they will develop clumps which are best left undisturbed for many years because they reestablish slowly after transplanting.
