Aloe marlothii also known as Mountain Aloe is native to the Transvaal in Africa. This succulent tree type Aloe has an attractive single trunk a slow grower but can reach 10 feet in time, the leaves are 2 1/2 feet long by 7 inches wide when mature.
The leaves form a dense rosette of pale glucose blue or greenish up to 2 1/2 feet long by 7 inches wide concave and very spiny with short thick purplish brown thorns. In late fall to late winter appear the wide spread branching inflorescence bearing orange flowers the humming birds love. Plant in full sun in a well-drained soil.
