Agave Potatorum Kichiokan Marginata also known as Dwarf Variegated Butterfly Agave is native to Mexico.
A much sought after cultivar thought to be of Japanese origin: this small slow growing Agave will in time be 12 inches in diameter by about 18 inches tall with short gray leaves margined with pale yellow streaks and red spines.
Grow in bright light to bring out the variegation but not full sun in hot climates as this will butn the variegated parts of the leaves.
Mature plants have a hemispherical shape with up curving leaves that are yellow to pale green varegation along the margins and red spines.
Little irrigation is required
Agave Potatorum comes from simi arid hghlands, in altitudes between 4000 and 7000 feet near Puebla and Oaxaca Mexico
