Echium Pride of Maderia also known as Echium candicans and Echium fastosum is native the Canary Islands.
A large picturesque plant, with many coarse heavy branches 3 to 6 feet tall, long linear, silver, hairy, drooping leaves on stout leafy stems. In May to June great spike like clusters of blueish purple 1/2 inch long flowers stand out dramatically well above the foliage.
Plant the Echium Pride of Madeira for bold effects against walls, on slopes, at the back of a wide flower border. Prune to keep the plant bushy. It’s hardy to 16 degrees.
We are offering a well-established plant that is 6 to 8 inches tall.
